Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and companionship to individuals in need - Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming - Administer medication according to prescribed schedules - Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to appropriate medical personnel - Assist with meal planning and preparation - Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment - Provide transportation for appointments, errands, and social outings - Engage in meaningful activities with individuals to promote socialization and mental stimulation Qualifications and skills:
Qualifications and skills required for caregivers include creating a safe and effective environment, promoting and maintaining health, caregiver skills, medication reminders, patient services, verbal and written communication, listening, dependability, emotional control, medical teamwork, compassion, observation, interpersonal skills, time management, organization, cleanliness, patience, flexibility, initiative, and physical strength and stamina.
To become a caregiver, you must have a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/FA, 1 & 2 (within 6-12 months of hire), CPI certification, Home Health Aid (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification, a minimum of 1
year(s) professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors, and a valid in-state driver's license, provide current registration and insurance.
You must also be 21 and older.
