As the Systems Engineer, you ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. You apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, applications support group and key systems users. Assists users in prioritizing new development projects, enhancement projects for existing systems, and system maintenance requests in accordance with developed strategies that ensure proper working interrelationships among existing system and anticipated future changes. Recommends projects to IT management and users to improve specific problems in assigned areas. Maintain and modify assigned applications programs Develop new programs of limited complexity and scope, working with basic applications systems design and specifications as provided by the Business Owners and/or Senior Project Support Manager and utilizing standards procedures and techniques Assist higher-level programmers in the development of complex programs and technical documentation Perform system configuration to include database and screen changes based on requirements from the Business Owners and/or Senior Project Support Manager Provide project phase in support to new programs. This includes system configuration, data loading, testing and training to end users Develop and maintain technical documentation, including but not limited to flow charts and program documentation, related to assigned programs in a version control environment Participate in assigned aspects of user consulting, systems analysis, general systems design, and vendor contracts and detail systems design Learn user functions, organization and role in the enterprise to the extent required Conduct on-going technological reviews to enhance operation of current, future programs, and development skills Utilize Work Control system to receive and update assignments and status Develop analysis and design of systems and/or programs Generate and test program and report code Document program and report code Assist others with debugging whenever necessary Evening and weekend work as required to meet deadlines or conduct production upgrades, patches, etc EDUCATION &
Experience:
Bachelor degree with major in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
3 years Oracle PL/SQL programming, knowledge of MS Visual Basic, MS Access, Java, 3 years experience with EAM systems (Maximo preferred). Experience with enterprise reporting tools (Crystal, Cognos, BIRT, etc). Ability to program and analyze system data. Effective written and oral communication skills.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
